Arena Sports Bar & Grill
A Downtown Independence Landmark

Located across from Riverview Park in the heart of downtown Independence, Arena Sports Bar & Grill is more than just a place to catch the game — it's a piece of local history. The building dates back to 1884 when it first opened as a hardware store. It became a tavern the day after Prohibition ended, when, according to local legend, over 300 people lined up around the block for nickel beers.

From 1933 to 1983, it was known as The Palace Pool Hall, then Schooners from 1983 to 2009, before becoming the Arena Sports Bar & Grill you know today. Locally owned and operated, Arena has remained a staple of the community for generations.

Inside, you’ll find 12 HDTVs broadcasting all your favorite teams, three pool tables, foosball, local and national sports memorabilia, Oregon Lottery machines and Keno, and free Wi-Fi. Whether you're here for the big game or just a casual night out, our welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff make Arena the go-to destination for sports fans and locals alike.

Our menu features mouthwatering burgers, over 20 bold buffalo wing flavors, and the legendary Chernobyl Challenge. Pair it all with a cold beer, and it’s easy to see why Arena is where Independence comes to play.
